How would you describe your photography style?

My style is a combination of photojournalism and posed images.

Do you have a second photographer or work alone?

I am happy to hire a second shooter if the client wants two photographers. More often than not, I am the only photographer and my assistant is with me.

What are your prices?

Please contact me via email for current pricing. info@candicebrownphotography.com or click here for the contact form.

How do we book you?  What are your payment terms?

To be officially booked, I require a signed agreement and non-refundable retainer paid at the time of booking. The retainer is 20% of the total balance. The remaining 80% is divided into two payments, due 6 weeks and then 2 weeks before the wedding date. I always offer my clients the option to break down the payments even more, provided that the final balance is paid 2 weeks before the wedding.

Do you do portrait sessions?

Absolutely! I very much enjoy portrait sessions with clients. I offer engagement and bridal portraits, along with family sessions too.

How do we set up a timeline to ensure we get everything we want?

I have all of my clients complete a very detailed questionnaire about the wedding day. (if they want a first look, what images are most important to them, how many family formal group pictures, etc.) Then we will meet, discuss their answers, and make a detailed timeline for the day. I also have them make a list of the family formal groups they would like—that way we don’t miss any important shots with family.

Do you use a shoot list?  Can I show you my Pinterest board?

No. I am very familiar with the typical wedding day and what pictures need to be taken.  If my head is always down looking at a list, then I’m missing the amazing moments happening around me. We certainly don’t want that! Any images particularly important to my clients will have been discussed and noted prior to the wedding day. Clients are always welcome to show me ideas they found on Pinterest. That being said—I don’t guarantee that we can recreate any specific images. Plus, we want to create images that are unique to the client and their wedding day-not just copy what someone else already has.

How many images can we expect to receive?

I never put a limit on how many images I deliver. Typically, you can expect to receive around 50-70 edited images per hour that I’m shooting. For example, if I shot an 8 hour wedding day, then I would expect to deliver somewhere between 400-560 images.

Will we receive all of the images taken?

You will receive every good image I take, but I do give clients every frame I take. Plus, who wants a picture of someone with their eyes closed or an accidental picture of the sidewalk?

Do you offer albums?

I offer albums in a variety of sizes. Albums are included in some of the collections or can be purchased a la carte.

How long until we receive our images?

The turn around time is 4-6 weeks.

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes yes yes. Having the proper insurance is such an important aspect of being in business. I can also provide Proof of Insurance if required by the venue.

Do you have backup equipment?

I have backup professional camera bodies, lenses, and flashes. Accidents happen, sometimes technology fails, and I make sure none of that affects my ability to make beautiful images on a wedding day. Backups are always with me.

Do you photograph gay or lesbian same sex weddings?

Why yes I do.

How long have you been in business?

2018 marks my 5th year in business.  In 2017 I photographed 21 weddings.

Will you hold a wedding date?

To keep things simple and fair for everyone, I book on a first come, first serve basis. The only thing that insures your date is signing a contract and paying the retainer.

When should we book you?

As soon as possible. I never want a client to feel rushed or pressured, however, (like mentioned earlier), I can’t guarantee a date until an agreement is signed and retainer paid.

Do you edit our photographs?

Yes I do. Once the wedding is over, the bulk of my work begins. I personally go through every image I take, make the selections, and then edit them. It can be quite a time consuming task.

Are you willing to travel?

I have my suitcase and passport ready! So yes, I am willing to travel.
