About Candice Brown
I am a Fairhope photographer specializing in wedding photography and portrait photography. I am perhaps best known for my clean style, use of light, and ability to put my clients at ease in front of the camera.
Since starting my studio in 2013, I've had the pleasure of photographing 85+ weddings. Pictures bring me joy. From carrying around my handy Polaroid in grade school to wielding my arsenal of Nikons and lenses at weddings, I have always loved making photographs. I will bring that same energy and joy to your wedding too.
In 2018 I became a Certified Professional Photographer, a credential established in the 1970's by Professional Photographers of America to ensure a standard of excellence within the industry. I have been a member of PPA for 6+ years and currently pursuing the Master of Wedding Photography and Master Photographer distinctions.
From the beginning of my career, I knew I wanted to photograph weddings. Weddings are full of excitement, energy, drama and beauty. By mixing a photojournalistic style and guided posing, my goal is to create timeless wedding photographs to be cherished by you and for many generations who follow.
Pictures bring me joy. A love for photography has always been a part of me. From carrying around my handy Polaroid in grade school to wielding my arsenal of Nikons and lenses at weddings, I have always loved making photographs.
More specifically, I love making beautiful images that will bring others joy and happiness, which is why I am drawn to wedding photography. Weddings are full of excitement, energy, drama and beauty. By mixing a photojournalistic style and guided posing, my goal is to create timeless wedding photographs to be cherished for generations.
My images have been published on various wedding blogs and in print, including I Do Y'all Magazine, Access Magazine, and Love and Lavender.

I live with my family in Fairhope, AL. When not spending time with clients and photography, I’m making memories with my husband, our two non-stop little girls, and our two dogs (an energetic rescued "Alabama Brown Dog" and a neurotic Blue Heeler). There is never a dull moment at the Brown household!
“You can never be overdressed or overeducated.”
― Oscar Wilde
An emphasis on education is the foundation of my photographical successes. My background in classical music instilled an understanding of how strong fundamentals are necessary for creative success. Before starting Candice Brown Photography, I completed the photography certification program at the University of South Alabama. It was a wonderful starting point and I recommend it to anyone in the Mobile area who wants to learn more about photography- professionally or just as a hobbyist. Since then I’ve also had personal instruction from some of the best photographers in the world, and I say that without exaggeration.
Call me old school-but I prefer to learn in-person from the best. In 2017 I attended a workshop in NYC with Susan Stripling. I have learned posing and lighting from the one and only Roberto Valenzuela- and looking forward to attending his Photo Creator’s conference later in 2020. At the end of 2019, I was one of the lucky few that got to be a part of Cliff Mautner’s first Advanced Photography Bootcamp.
Since in person learning can only happen once or twice a year, I also enjoy continuous online learning as a member of The Wedding School, taught and founded by the one and only Susan Stripling (one of 7 and the only female WPPI Grand Master) and Sue Bryce’s Portrait Masters online education.
Awards and Accolades
Pushing to get better is always a priority. One of the ways I do that is submitting to photography competitions like PPA's International Photographic Competition, among others. Since PPA started their Master of Wedding Photography Degree, I've had images merit. I was also a finalist in the Shoot and Share competition.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. Please drop me a line and tell me a little about yourself. I’d love to hear from you! firstname.lastname@example.org
